About Sonny

My story is the quintessential American narrative, forged in the hardscrabble reality of a working-class family. I grew up amidst the rhythmic clang of oil rigs and the bustling hum of a diner, learning the value of sweat equity from my father, an oil field worker, and my mother, a waitress. These formative years instilled in me a profound understanding of the struggles and aspirations of everyday Americans.

My path wasn't paved with privilege. I earned my way, navigating the demanding hours of the service industry while pursuing my academic ambitions. A product of Southeastern Louisiana University, my thirst for knowledge drove me to Louisiana State University for graduate studies, a testament to my unwavering dedication to self-improvement.

Today, I stand as a construction project manager for a Minority owned business, a role that underscores my commitment to building not just structures, but opportunities for my community. This experience has given me a unique, ground-level perspective on the challenges facing small businesses and the infrastructure needs of our region.

I am not a product of the political machine. I am a political outsider, a man who has lived and breathed the realities faced by working families. I haven't spent my life in the halls of power, but in the trenches of everyday life, building a career, supporting my community, and understanding the true meaning of hard work.

Now, I'm answering a different call to service. After a lifetime of labor, I'm ready to bring my proven work ethic, my practical experience, and my unwavering commitment to the people. I'm ready to work for you.
